For the Student Design Awards 2018, Penguin Books set a brief for students to produce book cover designs for three categories. I chose Adult Fiction, Animal Farm, and a Children's Fiction, Noughts & Crosses.
I interpreted the themes of these books with the use of Letterpress, for both covers, highlighting the importance of the 7 commandments in Animal Farm without giving them away and creating a watercolour background for Noughts & Crosses to emphasise the significance of the beach. The colours I used for Animal Farm are also reminiscent of the Russian Revolution and the graphic design produced during that era of design.
